How to Make Your Laptop Faster

For all laptop users, some may experience their laptops getting slower in terms of running multiple files or applications, or some may even complain of their start-up getting slower even without running anything. Well, here are tips on how you could make your laptop faster and make your laptop experience more pleasant than ever.

First is to check for viruses. Some viruses may cause why your system slowed down. Download an updated antivirus and perform a full scan. If you are knowledgeable in computers, you could manually look for viruses using the command prompt. Clean your system and see if there would be improvement in your laptop. If not, take the next step.

The next step is to check your laptop for silent running applications that could be running in the background without you even noticing it. You could check the files running in the notification area of your laptop at the bottom right (default) of the screen. Anything running like installations, automatic updates, automatic scans etc. could be the cause why your laptop slowed down. If none is found or if the system is still slow, follow the next step.

The next step would be to check the programs that run during startup. Most messengers, antiviruses, and other miscellaneous applications may be starting during start up that could also cause the system delay of your laptop. Configure the preferred start up programs in the start up manager in the start menu>accessories>system tools and reboot. Also, in the system tools, one could choose the option Disk Defragment to De-frag fragmented files within your laptop. Less fragmented files would increase the speed of the processing of your laptop. Also installing registry cleaners could help.

If the speed still hasn’t improved, you could check your recent software installations. Some inconsistencies, or corrupt files, or incompatible files that have been installed in the laptop may be the cause of your slow system. If still, after these steps have been exhausted, other countermeasures should be done.

One is to copy all your files and format your disk. Using imaging software to create an image of your disk wouldn’t help at all as it will only restore all of the files including the possible cause of the delay. After formatting, your system should be as fast as new. However, if the problem still persists, one of your files might be the reason for the delay like a corrupted file. Follow these guidelines and your laptop will surely be as fast as when you first bought it.
